Dates, times, places to connect with Slow Chinese community members
Hi all,
Two quick updates from me:
First, the next online member meet-up will be this Thursday (13 April) at 7.30pm UK time.
Second, reminders of upcoming offline dinners in the next month
Here goes…
1. Online Meet-up
This month’s live meet-up will be a Deep Dive called the Context Learning Compass.
We’ll be sharing the methodology we use to write this newsletter, which is all based around context-based learning. It builds on the Chinese Media Masterclass we did in February.
Here are the details:
Date: Thursday 13 April (this Thursday)
Time: 7.30pm UK time (2.30pm EST; 11.30am PST; 8.30pm CET) - 30 mins later than previously announced
Background: This will form the basis for a breakout session I will be co-presenting at the Asia Society's National Chinese Language Conference (NCLC) at the end of this month. So this is the "beta" version of my presentation which I'm keen to test out!
If you'd like to join please just head over to the product page to register.
When you get to Checkout, use the discount code"Value" to get it for free. After that you'll receive an email with the log-in details for Thursday's session.
Thank you and hopefully see some of you on Thursday!
Join one of our Community Dinners
We had a great dinner in London last week!
It was a fantastic mix of delicious hot pot, cold Tsingtao Beer, and great company.
Most importantly, we actually did practice Chinese - with 60-70% of the conversations in Mandarin.
In the next few weeks we have the following dinners happening:
Washington DC
Date: Saturday 15 April
Guests: 4 confirmed guests so far
Barcelona
Date: Tuesday 18 April
Guests: 2 guests confirmed so far
Melbourne
Date: Thursday 20 April
Guests: 3 guests confirmed
New York
Date: Thursday 27 April (***This date has changed as I will be in New York that week so I’ll be joining this one!)
Guests: 5 guests confirmed so far
RSVP by clicking through to the event page of each city.
Please do try your best to join one of our dinners, they are really fun and a great way to connect with other like-minded language learners.
I hope you have a great week, and look forward to seeing you online or in person soon!
Cheers,
Andrew
