2023年9月28日，传出了中国恒大CEO许家印被警方控制的消息。
许家印大学毕业后就到工厂工作了。由于他后来看不到继续晋升的可能就辞职做起了生意。许家印先去了一家房地产公司上班。他负责的项目帮老板赚到了很多钱。当他向老板提出涨工资的要求被拒绝后，便带着几个人出来成立了自己的公司，也就是现在的中国恒大。
许家印胆子大，很会借钱。恒大刚成立的时候没钱买地，他总是能说服很多人放心地把钱借给他，然后把房子盖起来。靠着空手套白狼这样的方式，恒大在2006年从广东走向全国。
2016年，恒大成为史上最年轻的世界500强之一，也是全球房地产销售第一。2017年，许家印提出到2020年底恒大要实现总资产3万亿元，并成为世界百强企业。尽管到2020年底许家印没有实现自己的豪言壮语，但还是做到了2.3万亿元。
随着中国一个又一个大房企暴雷，恒大也不例外。到2023年6月30日，恒大总负债大约2.4万亿元。许家印为中国很多城市留下了一片又一片的烂尾楼，坑害不少买恒大房子的人以及投资恒大的人。这么大的窟窿实在想不出来谁能帮他填。
